THE SCHOOL

I joined the International Taiji School headed by Grand Master Dong Zeng Chen in 1995. I am, to this day, following the teachings of the Dong Family, now under the tutelage of his son, Master Dong Da De also know as Alex. In 1997 I received permission to teach under the family name.

Alex is a fourth generation Master in the Dong (Tung) lineage. His great grand father Dong Yin Jie was a senior disciple of Yang Cheng Fu. His grand father Dong Hu Ling studied the art with both his father and Yang Chen Fu.

Alex started his training in China at the age of 5 with his father, Grand Master Dong Zeng Chen. At 12 the family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where he continued his training with his father and also his grandfather, Grand Master Dong Hu Ling who had a major influence on his learning.

After assisting his father's teaching, Alex started his own classes in 1990. He moved to New York in 2003 where he established his school, the 'Alex Dong International Taijiquan Association' and founded the 'Tung Ying Jie Taiji Legacy' to honour his great-grandfather and keep the traditions of the Dong Family Taiji style alive.

I ensure regular contact with Alex by attending at least three workshops a year, in the United States, Greece or England. Alex, my colleagues, my students and myself follow a path of growth, constantly developing and sharing our understanding of the art. We also perpetuate the values and traditions of the Dong Family Taiji.

The 'Alex Dong International Taijiquan Association' has branches in the USA, Canada, England, Greece, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Italy, France, Denmark, Croatia and now Spain with my school in Majorca.
