TESTIMONIOS

In today's hectic world, I have found Taiji to be a powerful way of bringing me back to myself. Not only are the classes relaxing to do, the increased presence of awareness they result in help to bring some space and creativity to the more hectic and stressful aspects of my daily routine. Armand is an excellent teacher, and with his powerful presence and infinite patience, a walking advert for the benefits of Taiji!

Armand is a fantastic and inspirational teacher of Tai Chi and has passed on to me much of what I know about the Long Form, the Family Set and Qigong. He is clear and down to earth, economical in his explanations, appropriate in his interventions and corrections, supportive of every one of his students and full of fun, mischief and good humour. You could not learn with a better master.

I was very lucky that Armand was my first Taiji instructor because I am slow to learn and he has the patience of a saint. He is an electrifying demonstrator and very encouraging: two qualities that make for a good teacher. He is so good that I never once missed a class (unless I was away for work or holidays). Armand also has a wicked sense of humour, which I miss very much. As a teacher, I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Since taking up lessons with Armand I have found that Martial arts are not about being gung ho. It is about being relaxed and comfortable with your body. It is not about looking good. I have found Tai Chi extremely comforting. Every time I finish a lesson I feel good, there is no competitiveness. Students at whatever level are given the time individually to improve at there own pace. I also feel like I have had a workout after every lesson, having jumped on a treadmill.

I have had three Taiji instructors before joining Armand's class a year ago. All three taught the Yang family Long-form, but each was very different as was the style of teaching; Armand in only a short time has taught me more than all the other three combined. His attention to the details of the form and his ability to explain and demonstrate them has benefited the whole class. And he seems to have infinite patience with us!
You will be missed!

I have practiced Tai Chi with Armand for at least 5 years. I have found his teaching to be thoughtful, insightful and fun. I have learnt a lot from him including the patience to be able to stick with things until they improve.

I came with a little trepidation to my first Dong Tai Chi class with Armand as I had been to another Tai Chi class held at a gym in which the teacher concentrated on the ethereal rather than on actual practice. However I quickly found the class taught by Armand to be the right mix of martial, spiritual and health practice for me. Armand was good at introducing the basic aspects of Tai Chi without making it overly complicated and I found the class atmosphere to be friendly but at the same time had a good focus on the lesson. Over the four and half years that I have studied under Armand (and I hope to continue for more) I have enjoyed and looked forward to each lesson. The progression was at the right level to ensure that we learnt and incorporated the basics but at the same time could study new techniques and different aspects of doing Tai Chi. Overall I would recommend Tai Chi to everyone and knowing the difficulty in finding a good teacher I would absolutely recommend Armand as a teacher.
